At IHCantabria, the understanding of knowledge transfer has evolved in line with the new european and national strategic frameworks. We understand the concept of knowledge transfer and exchange which transcends the classical unidirectional vision to consolidate itself as a central and bidirectional function of the institution. We do not understand research as an isolated process, but as a collective activity integrated in innovation ecosystems where the flow of knowledge is multidirectional, allowing our research to be enriched by the needs and experiences of economic and social actors. This relational approach allows us to overcome linear models and promote dynamic co-creation processes, ensuring that science is open, inclusive and socially responsible.

IHCantabria’s social commitment is especially evident through our actions in favor of the community, where we adapt scientific findings to make them usable by citizens and encourage scientific vocations to build a sustainable future.

Our work is deployed through a multiplicity of channels that seek not only technological development, but also the valorization of knowledge for the benefit of society:

• Specialized Technical Assistance: Provision of expert knowledge that define specific technical scopes to solve specific challenges of third parties.
• Direct Collaboration and Co-creation: Projects developed in cooperation where IHCantabria and external organizations co-design and co-execute services and technologies, sharing responsibilities and ownership of the results.

• Bids and R+D+I Programs: Active participation in competitive calls and public procurement procedures at regional, national and international level.
• Product and Software Development: Creation of technological tools evaluated under Technology Readiness Level (TRL), with a focus on their technical validation and market potential.
• Scientific Dissemination and Communication: Transfer through high impact papers and presentations in forums of international excellence.
